About Brian Tanaka

I'm Brian Tanaka, Designated Managing Broker of Tanaka Real Estate in Normal, Illinois. I was born and raised in Bloomington, and I've worked in real estate full time since 2018.

Before starting my own companies, I helped lead property management teams that oversaw more than 2,200 homes at one firm and 500 at another. That experience taught me how homes are really bought, sold, maintained and valued, and it's why I focus on clear communication and honest advice.

Today I help buyers and sellers across Bloomington-Normal through Tanaka Real Estate, and I also founded Firefly Property Management to serve local rental owners. Whether you're buying your first home, selling, or investing, I'll be your guide from the first conversation to closing day and beyond.
